How do I know if I am a potential candidate for surgery at Laser Spine Institute?
Our streamlined experience is designed to give every potential patient the personalized care they deserve. We provide an over-the-phone MRI review as well as in-person consultations to determine if your condition can be treated with our procedures. You will then work with our Care Management Team to complete a medical assessment and schedule your visit.

How long do I need to be at Laser Spine Institute’s facility?
Each patient’s experience with us at Laser Spine Institute will be dependent upon their conditions and the recommended procedure. To better serve our patients, we recommend speaking with our team to obtain a better understanding of your individual experience at Laser Spine Institute.

Do I have to stay at a hospital overnight?
Our procedures are performed in our state-of-the-art outpatient ambulatory surgery centers located throughout the United States, including our Cincinnati center. Because so many of our patients travel to see us, we have partnered with local hotels surrounding each center to offer lower rates and preferential treatment. After surgery you will spend a short period of time in our postoperative area before heading home or to your hotel,^ accompanied by your Care Partner.

How long will I be out of work after my surgery?
Our patients are up and walking just hours after their surgeries with us at Laser Spine Institute.^ For our minimally invasive decompression surgeries, 81 percent of our patients report returning to work within three months of surgery.

Do I have to have someone with me for my surgery?
Yes. Because our patients return home or to a hotel, we require that all patients be accompanied by an able-bodied adult for the 24 hours immediately following surgery.

Can I choose my own surgeon?
We welcome any recommendation that you might have for a surgeon preference; however, we do not promise that you will receive the surgeon you request. This is because we partner surgeons with cases that are specific to their specialties and availability to best serve you.

Will insurance cover my surgery at Laser Spine Institute?
We work with a number of insurance providers to make our procedures attainable to every patient who is in need. In order to best serve our patients, we offer insurance verification before we ever look for a commitment. We are also constantly working to partner with insurance providers in order to improve the coverage and lower our patients’ out-of-pocket costs, which is why we offer to re-verify insurance multiple times through our streamlined patient experience.

Does Medicare cover surgery at Laser Spine Institute?
We work with Medicare patients to ensure they are given the best care and service available. Our current contract with Medicare covers the doctors’ and surgeons’ fees. This, however, does not cover the associated facility fee. Because our centers are run using state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, there is generally an out-of-pocket cost when this section of the fee is not covered.
